Melendez 14, Garcia 8
Jorge Davila's 6th inning grand slam broke an 8-8 tie and gave Freddie Melendez his 2nd win of the year. Davila also hit a monster solo shot earlier in the game. Eric Schulman was 3-for-4 with a HR and 3 RBI. Garcia homered and drove in 3 in a losing effort, and Bobby Echevarria also homered.

Schmerler 9, Hewes 8
With two outs in the bottom of the 7th, Havelock Hewes served up a walkoff 3-run shot to Jorge Davila. Chris Pun added 3 hits.

Parfrey 14, Garcia 5
Jerry Ramirez drove in 3 runs as Parfrey coasted to his 2nd victory. Alex Rivera was 3-for-3 with a solo HR for Garcia's team.

Games of Dec 18

21 players braved near-freezing temperatures to play in the season finale.

Hewes 11, Melendez 7
Eric Schulman was 4-for-4 with a HR and 3 RBI, Cisco Velez was 3-for-4 with a HR and 5 RBI, and Bobby Echevarria also homered, as Havelock won his 21st game of the year. For Freddie's team, Jorge Davila homered, and Sam Melendez had 3 hits.

Parfrey 11, Garcia 9
Trailing 4-1 in the 5th, Parfrey's team exploded for 6 runs, and never looked back. Sam Magnus was 4-for-5 with 3 RBI, Bobby Echevarria was 3-for-4 with a HR and 2 RBI, and Josh Balsam's 2-out 2-run single was the go-ahead hit. Jorge Davila hit a pair of 3-run HR's for Garcia's team.

I am in the process of updating the stats, and in the next few days it should be complete. We will be back in action in January 2012, weather permitting.

Games and Notes of 11/28

Alex Rivera broke Phil Kotik's doubles record with a 1st inning flare to short center off of Havelock Hewes. Where anyone else would have stopped at first, Alex took second, and now has 35 doubles for the year.

We will be in Hastings, at Zinsser Park, Sundays at 10:00am when the weather permits it. Now, the games:

Zach Nilva (6-5) cruised to victory behind a balanced offensive attack. Nilva led 9-1 after 4, but Schmerler's team fought back. Alex Rivera homered and drove in 2 in a losing effort.

Hewes 10, Parfrey 6 (5 innings)
Jorge Davila homered and drove in 4 to back Havelock's pitching. Alex Rivera was 3-for-3 for Parfrey's team.
