2020 Final Stats
The 2020 stats are in the books! Impressively, SFL managed to play something close to a full season. One of the unsung MVPs of the stat compiling process was the scanner in Gil's office. Without it, we have more minor inaccuracies than usual, but the numbers are as good as I could make them, and corrections are completely impossible. Congratulations to Glen Lawrence and Tim DeSieno on splitting the pennant at plus 7, to Mark Rodriguez on his first batting title, to Sam Magnus for finishing second in basically every offensive category. Thanks to Cid Rivera for his work in co-ordinating fall season games. Cid also led the league in both runs scored and batted in.
There will be a lifetime stats update to follow in the next few weeks, and we've already begun the 2021 season up at Dyckman Street. I won a nail biter over Havelock, 10-9, in the opener, and Frankie Almanzar earned his team a split with a 15-9 win over Nate Sillman that featured Freddie Melendez and Pat Bavasi hitting back to back homers for the winners, and Jacob Almanzar cranking a 3-run bomb off of his dad for the losing team.
